HAVE YOU HAD THIS EXPERIENCE?
Chaos in the Classroom

The studio door opened and the energy spilled in like a wave. Shoes squeaked against the floor as students darted across the room, running in circles before warm ups even began. A few made a beeline to the barre, hanging and swinging from it like a playground jungle gym.

The music was cued up, but no one seemed to notice. Instructions went unheard under the chatter and laughter. Every attempt to gather the group felt like shouting into the wind.

At the back of the room, eyes kept drifting toward the window. Parents stood there, waving, mouthing words, or motioning for attention. Students turned away from the lesson, eager to perform for the parents instead of the teacher.

Scarves, shakers, and ribbons turned into toys. Some tossed them into the air, others tugged them away from classmates. The structure of the class unraveled before it could even begin.

The room, meant for movement and discovery, pulsed with noise and distraction instead. It was a swirl of unfocused energy. It felt like too much to contain, too little to channel, so the lesson plan sat untouched, waiting for a moment of calm that never came.

The Classroom Management Challenge will address Chaos before it can begin!

Hi! I'm Jessica

Hi! I'm Jessica, a retired professional ballet dancer turned passionate dance educator!

Like many new teachers, I quickly learned that being a great dancer doesn’t mean being a great teacher. I struggled in the classroom, feeling overwhelmed and unsure. But everything changed when I shifted my focus to what truly matters—my students.

Through years of research and experience, I discovered how children dance, learn, grow, and develop. Now, I’m here to help YOU gain the confidence, structure, and tools to create an engaging, effective dance classroom.

💡 That's why I started the Dance Teacher Challenges!
