The Dance Teacher Who’s Always a Step Behind
You're a passionate dance teacher who loves their job, the giggles during warm-up, and the proud moment when little dancers show off what they’ve learned. But behind the scenes? You’re tired because no matter how many years you’ve been teaching, planning always feels last-minute.
Every season starts with good intentions, for example, this year you'll plan ahead, map it all out, and feel organized. But life gets busy. Suddenly, it’s mid-September and the fall theme isn’t finished. December rolls around and you’re still figuring out holiday dances. By spring showcase time, you’re crossing fingers that music and costume choices come together in time.
It’s not because you don’t care. It’s because you’re doing it alone juggling ideas in your head instead of on paper, waiting until Sunday night to pull together the next week’s plan, and feeling that constant low-level stress of always being one step behind.
This is exactly why the Season Curriculum Plan-a-thon Challenge exists inside the Dance to Learn® Community. Imagine sitting down live each week in August, surrounded by other dance teachers who get it! Brainstorming your monthly themes, mapping out your dance concepts, and filling in special events like holiday activities and showcases together!
By the end, you’ll have your whole season planned and ready! No more guessing, no more scrambling, just a clear plan you can follow with confidence.
That's Why I Created the Season Curriculum Planning Challenge
This Challenge is for the Dance Teacher who always feels like they are a step behind! This Challenge will help the Dance Teacher Who:
- Feels like they’re always one step behind: You’re constantly planning the next theme while teaching the current one, and you never feel caught up.
- Waits until the last minute to choose lessons or music: You're spending Sunday nights searching for ideas, trying to make it all come together before Monday’s class.
- Loses momentum mid-season: Without a big-picture plan, it's easy to feel burnt out, uninspired, or stuck when the season gets busy.
- Wants to feel more organized and in control: Planning your year ahead gives you a roadmap to follow with less guessing, and more confidence.
- Has amazing ideas but no system to structure them: You know what you want to teach but you struggle with when, or how it all fits together.
- Doesn’t want to do it all alone:> Brainstorming with a community of like-minded teachers offers inspiration, accountability, and fresh ideas.
- Wants to deliver an exceptional experience to students and families:
- When your lessons are well-planned, your classes run smoother, your students stay engaged, and your families see the value.

What is the Challenge?
The Season Curriculum Plan-a-thon Challenge is a 4-week, members-only event starting August 1st that guides dance teachers through planning their entire dance season. Each week, we meet live on Zoom to map out your monthly themes, dance concepts, specialty events, and showcase ideas. This Challenge is designed so you can start the year with clarity, confidence, and a complete plan.
It’s collaborative, supportive, and designed to take the guesswork out of your season!
You Deserve to have a Successful Dance Season
In the Season Curriculum Plan-a-thon Challenge, we’ll work together to plan your entire dance season: from your monthly themes to your dance concepts, and even special events like holiday classes, recitals, and showcases. Planning these key areas in advance doesn’t just help you feel organized, it also reduces last-minute stress, gives your classes more cohesion, and helps you teach with confidence and creativity all year long. Whether you're a studio owner or a teacher, this challenge gives you a system, a support group, and a clear roadmap to follow.
During the Plan-a-Thon we will Plan:
- Your monthly themes based on Dance to Learn®’s core categories.
- The dance concepts you’ll teach each week.
- Special events like Halloween Week, Parent Watch Days, Holiday classes, and Recital prep.
- Your season calendar including lesson pacing and class milestones.
- How to align your props, playlists, and visuals with your themes and concepts.

Hi! I'm Jessica
Hi! I'm Jessica
Hi! I'm Jessica, a retired professional ballet dancer turned passionate dance educator!
Like many new teachers, I quickly learned that being a great dancer doesn’t mean being a great teacher. I struggled in the classroom, feeling overwhelmed and unsure. But everything changed when I shifted my focus to what truly matters—my students.
Through years of research and experience, I discovered how children dance, learn, grow, and develop. Now, I’m here to help YOU gain the confidence, structure, and tools to create an engaging, effective dance classroom.
💡 That's why I started the Dance Teacher Challenges!
