Ready-to-Teach Creative Dance Lessons for Ages 3–5
The Dance to Learn® Creative Dance Curriculum provides more than lesson plans. It gives you a clear, developmentally aligned way to teach young children through movement.
Each lesson is rooted in the Whole Child Dance Method™, so your teaching supports development, imagination, and foundational movement skills; not just steps.
What This Looks Like in Your Class
Every class follows a consistent, predictable structure so children feel safe, confident, and ready to participate.
You begin with NeuroNarrative™ Warm-Ups that prepare the brain and body for learning, helping dancers focus, regulate, and connect through story-based movement.
From there, lessons move into multi-sensory concept-play, where dancers explore foundational elements like Action, Space, Body, Time, and Energy through the dance concepts and their attributes. Exploration of the dance concepts includes visuals, props, and guided discovery. This is where children begin to understand how their bodies move and how movement works.
You then guide dancers through Story Dance EdVentures™, where imagination leads the way. Children become part of the story as they explore themes with movement concepts in meaningful, real-world contexts that support creativity, language, and connection.
Classes continue with Story Dance Pathway™ obstacle courses, giving dancers opportunities to dance through a Conceptualized-Thematic obstacle course which both tells a thematic story and provides dancers the opportunity to further explore the dance concept.
Throughout the lesson, children are building coordination, spatial awareness, balance, and expressive movement skills; all through developmentally appropriate experiences that match how young children grow and learn.
